Erica - I'm an optimist by choice, however, San Francisco politics offers extremely little to be optimistic over. S.F. has been a one party, union owned town for a very long time. Though there are more people and ever recently complaining about the status quo, and a very few election successes, when it comes to Supervisors and the Mayor, we seem badly stuck on stupid.

Is there any way to erase/roll back the changes made to the Charter Amendment by Safai? Do we need a hostage negotiator? :P

Of all the districts in San Francisco that require a solid police presence, it's Shamann Walton's, District 10. I don't understand his comment about limiting police staffing but remarking that people don't want to become police. Walton has not been at the forefront within the district regarding this important issue. We don't get updates or newsletters from him and he doesn't conduct town halls. His politics don't reflect the majority of his constituents, either. He focuses on Bayview Hunter's Point to the exclusion of Potrero Hill, Dogpatch, and Visitacion Valley. How he managed to get reelected is a mystery, unless he has a shadow government.
